Red flags at several Vallarta beaches as Polo’s swell reaches the bay

Puerto Vallarta Protección Civil’s latest reported beach check places Conchas Chinas, Camarones Sur, Camarones Norte and Playa de Oro under red flags. The Río Cuale mouth, Río Pitillal mouth and Marina Vallarta carry red and purple flags, warning against entering the water and indicating potentially dangerous marine wildlife. Palmares, Los Muertos, Burros and Holly were reported yellow. The SMN forecasts 1.5–2.5 metre waves, 50–75 mm of rain in coastal Jalisco and gusts of 30–50 km/h on Saturday 26 September as Polo moves away.

What visitors should doDo not enter the water at red-flag beaches. Treat red-and-purple areas with extra caution, stay away from river mouths, and obey lifeguards because flags can change during the day. Keep back from waves breaking over the Malecón and beach edges, confirm port and boat-tour status, and never cross flooded streets or fast-moving water.

Flair adds weekly nonstop Montréal–Puerto Vallarta flights from 16 December

Flair Airlines has announced a new nonstop winter service from Montréal (YUL) to Puerto Vallarta (PVR), beginning Wednesday 16 December 2026. The route is scheduled once weekly, with advertised introductory one-way fares from C$269; optional services may cost extra and availability is limited.
