Red flags at every Puerto Vallarta beach: stay out of the sea

Puerto Vallarta Protección Civil reported red flags across all municipal beaches on Saturday 26 September because elevated surf remains unsafe for swimming. The SMN forecasts 1.5–2.5 metre waves, 50–75 mm of rain in coastal Jalisco and gusts of 30–50 km/h as Hurricane Polo moves farther away. SEAPAL has inspected pumping and drainage facilities and notes that drinking-water sources depend on electricity.

What visitors should doDo not enter the sea anywhere along Puerto Vallarta’s coastline while the citywide red flag remains in force. Obey lifeguards, stay away from river mouths, and keep back from waves breaking over the Malecón and beach edges. Confirm port and boat-tour status, never cross flooded streets or fast-moving water, and keep a practical reserve of water at your accommodation in case storm-related power loss disrupts pumping.

Flair adds weekly nonstop Montréal–Puerto Vallarta flights from 16 December

Flair Airlines has announced a new nonstop winter service from Montréal (YUL) to Puerto Vallarta (PVR), beginning Wednesday 16 December 2026. The route is scheduled once weekly, with advertised introductory one-way fares from C$269; optional services may cost extra and availability is limited.
